About Dr. Liu
Dr. Zitao Liu is the Associate Chief Medical Officer of Incinta Fertility Center and an advocate for mild stimulation in assisted reproductive technology (ART).
He developed the clinic’s Mild-Stim protocol and has built neural network–based AI tools designed to support the accuracy and safety of controlled ovarian stimulation. He brings both extensive laboratory research and broad clinical experience to his patients’ care.
Dr. Liu was part of the research team behind a reported first live birth after nuclear transfer in oocytes. He earned his medical degree at Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences and his doctorate at Wayne State University, completed residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, and conducted postdoctoral research at Vanderbilt University.
He is the founder, a board member and president of the North America Society of Chinese Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and has served as a faculty senator at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Liu is an endurance runner who has completed marathons in Boston, New York City, Chicago, Tokyo and Berlin, as well as several 100-mile ultramarathons. He sees patients in English and Mandarin at our Torrance, Beverly Hills, Corona and Irvine locations.
